Sombras Encontradas / Found Shadows
Found Shadows examines the act of recognizing oneself within the projected image of a shadow—an anonymous, faceless form that nonetheless affirms identity. Echoing the philosopher’s allegory of the cave, the work situates the subject between light and its projection, between presence and perception. Rather than light itself, the series centers on its residual trace: the shadow as a site of meaning. Here, the image becomes both a point of estrangement and a moment of return—a fragmented encounter with the Self. Spanning from traditional photographic practices to installation-based works, Found Shadows unfolds as a self-referential inquiry into perception, representation, and the construction of identity.
